Project management boards are often filled with 'zombie' tasks—items that are poorly defined, lack ownership, or have unrealistic deadlines. These small ambiguities compound over time, leading to project delays, team burnout, and a lack of clarity in execution. Manually auditing every task in a large backlog is nearly impossible for project managers, allowing risks to hide in plain sight until they become critical failures. To solve this, we built TaskLint, an AI-powered task auditing system designed to act as an 'ESLint' for project management. The platform brings the rigor of code linting to the world of task execution, ensuring that every item on a board is clear, actionable, and low-risk. The system employs seven specialized AI agents that automatically analyze tasks across Jira, Trello, and ClickUp. Through a lightweight Chrome extension, TaskLint provides real-time, color-coded risk badges directly on the board, instantly flagging ambiguity, ownership gaps, and deadline issues. It also features a financial impact analysis agent that estimates the potential cost of task delays. With historical trend tracking and aggregated risk scoring, project managers can identify systemic workflow problems and receive actionable suggestions to improve project health before risks turn into delays. The result is a significantly more predictable and efficient project lifecycle. By automating the identification of task-level risks, TaskLint has helped teams improve their planning accuracy, reduce administrative friction, and maintain a high standard of execution across all their projects.
