Unanswered Message Notification
In high-volume community or customer support groups on WhatsApp, critical questions often get buried under a constant stream of conversation. Support teams face the persistent challenge of identifying which messages require an actual response and which have already been addressed, leading to delayed replies or important queries falling through the cracks entirely. Manually monitoring dozens of groups for unanswered questions is not only labor-intensive but prone to human error. To solve this, we built an automated monitoring system designed to act as a 24/7 guardian for group conversations. The system was engineered to distinguish between general chatter and high-priority questions that need attention. The solution utilizes an LLM-powered engine to scan incoming WhatsApp messages and identify genuine questions in real-time. To prevent false alarms, the system implements smart delay logic, waiting for a predefined window to see if a response naturally occurs within the group. If a question remains unanswered after this period, the system automatically triggers an alert to the team via Slack, providing the necessary context and a direct link to the conversation. This ensures that no critical query goes ignored while avoiding redundant notifications. The result is a significantly more responsive and accountable support environment where the team can focus on resolving issues rather than hunting for them. By automating the detection of unanswered questions, the system has improved response times and ensured that every community member feels heard and supported.
